STEM Week

Our STEM week started on 2nd October. Different
year groups had different projects to work on within
class teams. As well as this, children had projects
to enjoy working on with their families. These were
brought into school to be judged by classmates.
and finally judged by Mrs Carr. We also had
the opportunity to dress up with a STEM themed
costume. The Children’s costume ideas were very
creative and everyone looked amazing.

M & M Productions

On Tuesday 11th September 2018, pupils from Y1-Y6
all sat in the hall to watch a theatre show. We
watched a performance of ‘The Secret Garden’ from
M&M Productions and it was a really great show.
With all the different adventures that the characters
had inside the garden and the different pieces of
scenery,
it made the production feel very real. It was
such a good show and everyone really enjoyed it.
After the show, Y6 had the opportunity to take part
in a workshop with the cast. We learnt about the
lighting, the costumes, the sounds
and about what
happens on set. It was really interesting and inspiring.

Summer Fair

On Monday 9th July, our school hosted a summer
fair. We had multiple stalls, each one different.
The most popular activities were the
Henna Tattoo stall and the Donkey Rides.
We were lucky to have some sunny
weather and raised over £2300.
Everyone had great fun and many
lucky people won some amazing prizes.

Author Tom Palmer Visit

On Tuesday 19th June, we were very lucky to have the
author Tom Palmer visit our school. On the morning,
Tom joined in with our Daily Mile. He gave a free sample
of his book to every pupil who also walked the mile.
After that, he
had fun sessions with all
the children in KS2. He talked to us abo
ut his Football
Academy books and his Defender books. Tom gave us
a quiz and asked questions about football, news
articles, magazines and celebrities. At the end of each
session, Tom chose children who had answered
questions correctly to take part in a penalty shoot-out. Our
teacher was the goalie! The pupil who scored the most
penalties received a trophy. It was a really fun session
and we are all looking forward to reading his books.

World Book Day Camp-Out

On Tuesday 29th March, we celebrated World Book Day.
For our celebration, we had a Camp-Out in our school hall.
We all wore our camping or camouflage clothing.
There were lots of different tents and dens at the Camp-Out.
We went in all the different tents to read and share books,
magazines and comics with our friends.
We also had delicious hot chocolate and marshmallows.
They were so yummy! We all had a really fun time.

Drumming at the Sage

On Saturday March 24th 2017, lots of our Taiko drummers
from Year 6 went to the Sage in Gateshead to take part in
a festival, where many different groups and bands performed.
Our drumming group name was,’Stripey, Vipey Taiko’ and
we performed twice in this event.
Everybody enjoyed it, both the drummers and the
audience. We received lots of positive feedback and
all the Y6 pupils really enjoyed the day.

M & M Productions

On Friday 24th November 2017, we were very lucky to have
M
& M Productions come to our school and perform
‘Cinderella’. Pupils from Reception to Y6 all watched the
play as an early Christmas Pantomime. There was a lot of
audience participation when the fun songs came on. Also,
when the actors asked questions, the room was filled with,
“He’s behind you!”
It was a really fun show and everyone left
the hall with big smiles on their faces!

Children In Need Day

On Friday 17th November 2017, we had a ‘Spotty Pudsey Day’ in
school to raise money for Children In Need. Everyone dressed up
in spotty clothes. Year 5 had fun at playtime tricking everyone
by sticking coloured dotty stickers to people’s backs!
What a fun, fundraising day we had.
